In July 2024, Khongnangthaba University signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with Rajarshi College of Education & Skills, Tripura, and the Bare Footer School Foundation, Pune. From 3rd July 2024, Khongnangthaba University launched a 7-day Training of Trainers (ToT) programme aimed at enhancing the teaching skills and pedagogical knowledge of educators. The programme focused on modern teaching methods, curriculum development, assessment techniques, and the use of technology in education. Experienced trainers and education experts conducted interactive sessions, workshops, and practical demonstrations. Participants included faculty members from various departments, school teachers, and educational administrators. On 15th June 2024, Khongnangthaba University became a partnership member with Shivaami Cloud Services Pvt Ltd. for Google Workspace for Education Plus. This partnership aimed to enhance the university’s digital infrastructure by providing access to advanced cloud-based tools and services. Google Workspace for Education Plus offers a suite of productivity and collaboration tools, including Google Classroom, Google Drive, and Google Meet, tailored for educational institutions. The partnership is expected to facilitate seamless online learning, improve communication and collaboration among students and faculty, and support the university’s digital transformation initiatives.

On 5th June 2024, Khongnangthaba University observed World Environment Day with various activities sponsored by the Directorate of Environment and Climate Change, Government of Manipur. The event aimed to raise awareness about environmental issues and promote sustainable practices. Activities included tree planting drives, clean-up campaigns, seminars on climate change and environmental conservation, and exhibitions showcasing eco-friendly technologies and practices. Students, faculty, and community members participated actively in these events. On 27th April 2024, Khongnangthaba University organised a special lecture on “How to Write a Good Research Proposal for Ph.D.” The lecture was delivered by Prof. N. Surjitkumar, Professor and Head, Department of Political Science & Human Rights, Indira Gandhi National Tribal University, Amarkantak (IGNTU), Madhya Pradesh. The lecture aimed to guide postgraduate students and aspiring researchers in developing effective research proposals. The session covered essential elements of a research proposal, including problem statement, literature review, research methodology, and budget planning. Experienced researchers and academic mentors shared their insights and tips for crafting compelling proposals that can secure funding and support. The event provided valuable knowledge and resources to students, helping them to embark on their research journeys with confidence and clarity.

On 20th March 2024, Khongnangthaba University, in collaboration with the National Innovation Foundation-India, organised a two-day workshop on “Scouting and Documentation of Traditional Herbal Medicines” at the College of Pharmacy, Kangleipak Medical and Nursing Institute. The workshop aimed to document and preserve traditional knowledge of herbal medicines used by indigenous communities. It included sessions on the identification of medicinal plants, preparation of herbal remedies, and methods of documentation. Experts in traditional medicine, researchers, and community practitioners participated in the workshop. The event highlighted the importance of preserving traditional knowledge and integrating it with modern scientific research for the benefit of society.

From 14th to 16th March 2024, Khongnangthaba University, in collaboration with ICAR-Central Institute of Fisheries Education, Kolkata Centre, organised an entrepreneurship cum skill development training program. The training focused on the preparation of improved quality traditional and value-added fish products. Participants included local fish farmers, entrepreneurs, and students interested in fisheries and aquaculture. The program covered topics such as modern fish processing techniques, value addition, quality control, and marketing strategies. Practical demonstrations and hands-on sessions were conducted to enhance the participants’ skills and knowledge. This initiative aimed to promote entrepreneurship in the fisheries sector, creating new economic opportunities and improving livelihoods.

The School of Allied Health Sciences (AYUSH) at Khongnangthaba University organised a workshop on the scope of Ayush Pharmacy on 12th January 2024. The workshop aimed to explore the potential and opportunities in the field of Ayush (Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, and Homeopathy) pharmacy. From 20th to 22nd February 2023, Khongnangthaba University hosted a 2-day medical consultancy camp, featuring renowned doctors from Kolkata. Dr. Subrata Saha, a neuropsychiatrist, and Dr. Somokriti Ghoshal, an Ayurvedic oncologist, provided consultations and medical advice to attendees. The camp aimed to bridge the gap in specialised healthcare services available to the local population. It included free medical check-ups, diagnostic services, and counseling sessions. The event also raised awareness about mental health and alternative medicine, promoting a holistic approach to healthcare.
